Charlottesville Veterinary Rehabilitation Services

A dog wearing a therapy sling

Just like humans, animals need rehabilitative services for a variety of reasons. Surgery, injuries, advancing age, and genetic conditions can all impact your pet’s mobility or cause chronic pain. We are proud to offer your pet rehabilitation services to help them get back to living a normal, healthy life.

Pet rehabilitation offers a range of benefits, including improved mobility, pain management, and faster recovery from injuries and surgeries. Our veterinarians and Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioners (CCRPs) provide the highest caliber of care for our veterinary patients.

During your consultation with one of our CCRPs, your pet will receive a custom rehabilitation plan. This program considers your pet's individual needs and offers a clear path to recovery.

Trish

Trish

A lifelong animal lover, Trish was inspired to advance her career in canine rehabilitation by her dog Tank. Tank became a front limb amputee following a traumatic injury at 10 months of age. Trish is a biology graduate of Bridgewater College in 2014 and Veterinary Technology graduate of Blue Ridge Community College in 2016. In 2017 Trish started here at Virginia Veterinary Specialists and completed her certification as a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner from the University of Tennessee in 2023. In addition to her CCRP certification, Trish has completed additional training in managing patients with osteoarthritis and is a Canine Arthritis Management Practitioner. Trish's special interests include rehab and fitness for Tripawd dogs, osteoarthritis, and geriatric comfort. She is also a Fear Free Certified Professional and Walkin’ Wheels Certified to fit Walkin’ Wheels wheelchairs for specially abled dogs. Trish currently resides in Broadway, Virginia with my husband, Johnny, three beautiful and delightfully quirky dogs, and seven chickens. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and scent work sports with Tank, and her reactive dog, Houston.-

Kiah

Kiah

Kiah joined the VVS team in 2016. She is a Veterinary Technology graduate of Blue Ridge Community College in 2016. Her care for patients in our surgical department inspired her to advance her career in canine rehabilitation. She became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner in 2023 from the University of Tennessee. She is enthusiastic to work with dogs in their recovery from post-operative surgery, injuries, or geriatrics in need of a fitness regimen. When Kiah is not working, she enjoys spending time working on my many hobbies, painting, knitting crocheting and baking.
